The inaugural Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF) 2024 is set to take place from October 2 to 4 at Swissôtel PIK Avenue in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2), North Jakarta, aiming to become a cornerstone in Indonesia’s tourism industry calendar.

A New Hub for Global Tourism Interaction

WITF 2024 promises to be a vibrant marketplace, bringing together over 400 participants from around the globe and across Indonesia. The fair aims to foster direct interaction among tourism professionals, showcasing Indonesia’s diverse attractions from its westernmost tip to the eastern province of Papua.

Hariyadi Sukamdani, chairman of GIPI, expressed optimism about the fair’s potential impact, stating, “Uniting all of Indonesia’s tourism potential in one event, we believe that WITF 2024 will significantly contribute to national economic growth.”

Exceeding Expectations

The inaugural event has already surpassed its targets, securing 150 sellers and attracting more than 170 international buyers from 38 countries, including the US, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Southeast Asia. Noteworthy sponsors such as Garuda Indonesia, Emirates Airlines, and Turkish Airlines have played pivotal roles in facilitating this impressive international presence.

“We are also excited to host corporate buyers, offering a glimpse into Indonesia’s business events products,” added Sukamdani.

Strategic Venue and Additional Events

The choice of PIK Avenue for the fair takes advantage of its proximity to multiple hotels and the airport, making it accessible for international attendees. Budi Tirtawisata, chairman of the WITF 2024 committee, highlighted that PIK 2 is not just a venue but an emerging destination offering a plethora of facilities that event delegates can explore.

In conjunction with WITF 2024, MoTCE will host the 2nd Southeast Asia Tourism Business Events Forum (SEABEF) focusing on sustainability in the business events industry. Esteemed international speakers, including Waikin Wong from ICCA and Mark Cochrane from UFI, will address key topics such as sustainability, human development, technological advancements, and destination leveraging.
