Lonely Planet Highlights Vietnamese Cities for Unique Appeal
World-renowned travel guide Lonely Planet has recently unveiled its list of the best seven places in Southeast Asia for solo travelers, featuring Hanoi and Da Nang from Vietnam.
Da Nang secured third place, celebrated for its stunning coastal arc and the majestic Lady Buddha statue on the Son Tra peninsula. The city offers budget-friendly accommodations averaging VND1 million, making it accessible for solo travelers seeking an idyllic coastal escape.
Hanoi, ranked sixth, is praised for its authentic charm, where locals maintain their genuine daily lives despite the city’s growing popularity. The unpretentious spirit of Hanoi, which captivated the late Anthony Bourdain, continues to draw solo travelers.
Singapore topped the list, followed by Penang in Malaysia, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Bangkok in Thailand, and Bali in Indonesia. The criteria for selection included safety, affordability, diverse landscapes, rich culture, and enticing cuisine.
